1. Go to your Teams calendar. Select the meeting you are about to join.
2. From the pre-join screen, select Effects and avatars > Pre-meeting Effects and avatars icon > Video effects. Here you can blur your background, select a Teams background, or use your own image.
3. Click Done to turn off background effects. The background you change will persist in all meetings until you change it next time.
If you forgot to change your background before the meeting or want to switch it during the call, follow these steps:
1. In an ongoing meeting, move your mouse to the center of the screen to bring up the meeting control toolbar.
2. Click on the More actions (three-dot) icon on the toolbar. From the dropdown menu, select Apply background effects.
3. The right-hand panel will open, showing the same options as when you set up the background before the meeting.
4. Choose from the blur effect, one of the preset images, or upload a new image using the Add new button. To see how the background looks before applying it, click Preview. This allows you to see yourself with the new background without others noticing any changes.
5. Apply the Change: When satisfied with your selection, click Apply to update the background instantly.
